2020 Student Awards:

Piano Promotion Award: students who were promoted at least 1 piano level during the current academic year.

Community Service Award:  students who have used their music skills in a performing capacity for church, school, and/or community services and events.

Repertoire Portfolio Award: Recognizing those students that can perform at least 3(three) repertoire pieces by memory during the entire academic year (September - June).

Interpretation/Musicality Award:  Recognizing the ability to most closely represent the intent of the composer.  To earn this ward, a student must execute pieces with clarity of tone, evoke strong reaction from the listener, and protect from the heart-all while maintaining the integrity of the technical aspects of the music.

Musicianship Award:  Recognizing continuous effort, reliability, and cooperation.  To earn this award, a student must be faithful in attendance at lessons and in regular practice, diligent in attention to details, accept difficult assignments, and exhibit an exceptional eagerness to learn.

Progress Award: Recognizing a student's continuing progress in their music studies.  To earn this ward, a student must show noticeable progress in their musical development, understanding, and performing skills.

Apprentice Award: Awarded to any student who uses their knowledge, skills, and talents in a teaching capacity by taking on his/her own students under my guidance and mentoring.

Practise Award: Recognizing a student's diligence in maintaining a regular routine of adequate practice throughout the entire year.

Perseverance Award:  To earn this award, a student must overcome individual obstacles (i.e. Pandemic) and demonstrated marked determination to achieve musical goals and milestones as set out at the beginning of the academic year.

ORMTA Music Award: a student must have received a minimum mark of 80% on RCM/Conservatory Canada practical exams.

Studio Participation Award - awarded to students that participate in at least 2 (two) studio activities offered during the academic year (i.e. Refresh/Battle of the Keys Recital; Christmas Concert; performance rehearsals; Quick Study programs; Halloween Sight Reading Challenges etc).

Excellence Student of the Year Award: Recognizing a student's outstanding dedication to their music studies.  To earn this award, a student must exhibit exceptional achievement in the areas of musicianship, advancements, interpretation and showmanship. In addition, the student must be involved in music activities beyond the studio, making his/her talents available for performances at church, school, and community functions.
